Learning and development
Employee development is core to our philosophy and we strive to be a great place to work at. Our trainings – both behavioural and technical – ensure that all employees get the opportunity to avail that best-in-class learning. Cairn follows a blended learning model not just in letter, but in spirit. At Cairn, you will find yourself constantly challenged by learning on the job, and often in new jobs. You will drive up your learning curve through expert in-person classroom sessions, as well as an exhaustive repository of world-class online trainings that address developmental needs and train you to do your job and more, better.
The Cairn Learning Expedition (CLE) is one unique program that we take pride in. This is a unique capability building initiative wherein employees are selected every year for visiting the best-in-class companies across the globe to learn superior practices in areas of relevance to us, for maximizing production and growth of the company.
Cairn Leadership Initiative for Managerial and Business Excellence – CLIMB(e) is another program aimed at building leadership capability in the new era oil and gas economy. This program works through a period of six months for high potential candidates, and involves blended learning on executive leadership topics, one–on–one executive leadership coaching and leadership interactions that expose the participants to strategic thought processes of established leaders.
Diversity and inclusion
Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) are not just part of management theory. We know that diversity and inclusion in gender and culture are integral for organisational profitability, productivity, creativity, and growth. By bringing individuals, cultures, and ideas together, we create a stronger organisation. We learn from those who have different perspectives, and foster an agile and flexible approach to working to expand our horizons.
This includes people from different nationalities, genders, cultural identities, ages and thought orientations. And by bringing together knowledge from across the world, we connect and invest not only in each other, but within the communities, and the environments in which we operate.
It has been proved by research, time and again, that diverse teams are more innovative, creative and responsive to emerging business needs. We formed a nine-member D&I council in February 2017. The council has been tasked with the responsibility of architecting the overall Diversity and Inclusion strategy for the organization. It shall aim to achieve diverse representation across the organization at all levels and geographies, through well-defined initiatives. After all, Diversity and Inclusion are important building blocks of a successful and sustainable organization.
