The company’s legal team represented by Vikash Jain received the award at a virtually held ceremony

New Delhi, 4 September 2021 Cairn Oil & Gas, India’s largest private oil and gas exploration and production company and a vertical of Vedanta Ltd., has won the Legal Team of the Year award at India Legal Awards 2021. India Legal Awards is one of the most prestigious recognitions in the legal fraternity that aims to celebrate India’s business law community while striving to showcase its myriad talents and achievements.

Cairn’s legal team earned this prestigious award with continuous exemplary work that has steered the oil and gas company through complex legal matters. The team has played a key role in ensuring business continuity and securing the company from liabilities up to Rs 10,000 crore.

Receiving the award, Vikash Jain, the Vedanta Group General Counsel, and Cairn General Counsel, expressed his gratitude to the jury, leaders at Vedanta Ltd., and his team of seven that has been collaborating closely with leading players in the oil and gas sector like Schlumberger and Halliburton to successfully close contracts of around Rs 4000 crore. He also lauded his team for receiving favourable recognition not only from the Hon’ble Supreme Court and Hon’ble High Courts but also from international arbitrators.

Organized by Biz Integration and supported by the Society of Indian Law Firms and Singapore International Arbitration Society, India Legal Awards has been recognizing deserving achievements in the legal fraternity since 2015. This 7th Edition was attended by a host of dignitaries and was held remotely, mindful of COVID-19 protocols.
