India Energy Week 2023: Cairn Oil & Gas commits to responsible energy transformation through advanced technology, strong ESG roadmap and robust growth vision

  • The company will showcase its pioneering technologies like Alkaline Surfactant Polymer (ASP), Polymer Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), and the Petro-technical cloud project – the first-of-its kind in India
  • The company will also visually showcase its ESG roadmap integrating net-zero goals into business strategies to achieve Net-Zero Carbon emissions by 2050

Bengaluru, 7th February 2023: Cairn Oil & Gas, India’s largest private oil and gas exploration and production company, and a unit of Vedanta Group, is showcasing its vision, mission, and range of technologies at India Energy Week (IEW) 2023. Reflecting its commitment to sustainability and energy security, the Cairn’s stall at the event highlights the company’s integration of ESG in business strategies under the theme of ‘Transforming Energy Responsibly’.

IEW will address pressing issues of long-term energy transition and progression towards decarbonization. As a platinum sponsor, Cairn Oil & Gas will have a significant brand presence and showcase its vision of contributing 50% to India’s domestic crude oil and gas production. Cairn will achieve this through a multipronged strategic approach that includes new exploration, encouraging use of unconventional energy sources like shale and increasing production from existing blocks through application of latest technology and global partnerships.

“We are excited to be a part of India Energy Week 2023 and look forward to sharing our vision for a sustainable and self-reliant India,” said Nick Walker, Chief Executive Officer, Cairn Oil & Gas. “We are committed to playing a vital role in India’s energy transformation journey by bringing the best of global technologies to the country – our oil and gas fields across the country are already home to some of the sector’s technology firsts and have played a pioneering role in unlocking the potential of the sector. We look forward to participating at India Energy Week 2023 to showcase some of these advanced technologies, and our continued vision and commitment to making India self-reliant in energy.”

At IEW, the Cairn Oil & Gas Experience Zone will showcase the company’s pioneering technologies such as Alkaline Surfactant Polymer (ASP), Polymer Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), and the flagship PetroTechnical cloud project. Cairn is the first in India to adopt the petro-technical cloud project and implement its own cloud platform for upstream interpretation and simulation workflow. The platform will enable Cairn to access, analyze, and act on data from multiple sources in real-time, including drilling and production data, geophysical data, and sensor data.

A key highlight of the stall will be the company’s focus on achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 that is being well represented by a centre piece – a suspended Mother Earth – which will showcase the company’s commitment of integrating core business with ESG vision. The Cairn Experience Zone also includes a digital pledge wall – Caring for Planet Earth – where attendees can be part of the ESG journey by pledging their support to Cairn in its mission to plant 2 million trees by 2030.

In India’s journey towards energy self-sufficiency and import reduction, Cairn Oil & Gas will play a leading role. The company’s participation at India Energy Week 2023 provides a global platform to showcase its efforts towards securing India’s energy future while ensuring commitment to sustainable and responsible operations.
