Union Ministers for Petroleum and Agriculture visit Cairn operations in Barmer, Rajasthan


Having started operations in 1994, Cairn is celebrating 30 years of Energising India

Barmer, Rajasthan, 6 January 2024: We were honoured with the gracious presence of Shri Rameshwar Teli, MoS – Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Labour & Employment; and Shri Kailash Choudhary, MoS – Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India at our Mangala Processing Terminal in Barmer, Rajasthan. The two ministers commemorated the 30 years milestone of Cairn’s operations across India.

The Hon’ble ministers engaged with our leadership and dynamic team of on-site engineers who are instrumental in contributing 25% to the nation’s crude oil and gas production. Over the past decades, Cairn’s impact on Barmer’s landscape has been transformative, with per capita income witnessing an increase of 650%. This economic growth is a testament to Cairn’s commitment to the development and prosperity of the region, while also reinforcing Cairn’s position as the largest private player in India’s energy sector. Embodying our ESG vision of planting 2 million trees, the ministers planted saplings at our sites, strengthening our collective commitment to a sustainable future.
